These snacks are a MUST for any athlete

Food is a way of life! You have to eat to live, and eating healthy doesn't have to be hard or boring! I know from experience, it's easy to run late and grabbing those chips is an easy go... but don't make it a habit. Food is fuel for your body so choose wisely!

Nobody likes a hangry cheerleader, so don't go to practice hungry! Here are my top quick grab and go snacks.

  • Bananas, Apples, Strawberries, Oranges - You get the idea, FRUIT!
  • Cucumbers, Carrots, Peppers, Tomatoes- Great with Dips ;-)
  • Beef Jerky, Mixed Nuts
  • Cheese or Yogurts

*Pro Tip: Meal prep for the week! Cut up and fruit, cheeses, veggies for the entire week and put them in snack-size bags ready to go! I like to keep them all in one small tote/or drawer in the fridge. It's super easy, my 2 year old can grab it!

During practice be sure to have a big water, stay away from sugary drinks such as sodas, coffee, energy drinks. Sure those will get you going but you'll crash real hard and only perpetuate a cycle you don't want to get caught up in!

I think the key to healthy eating, and living is to constantly fuel your mind, body and soul. Snack all day with great food and drinks and your body will naturally have all the energy you need to keep going... without the caffeine and sugar!

So I want to hear from YOU! What do you like to snack on before practice?
